The Georges River Environmental Education Centre is one of twenty-three Environmental and Zoo Education Centres operated by the NSW Department of Education. We support schools in natural and urban fieldwork and environmental and sustainability education.
Our programs are designed and delivered by specialised teachers employed by the NSW Department of Education. We offer primary and secondary curriculum-focused programs in both natural and urban environments and in schools.
We deliver professional learning for teachers in nature pedagogy and environmental and sustainability education.
We provide additional support to schools in environmental audits, teaching resources and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures.
Our vision is to promote sustainability education and empower learners to act responsibly towards their environment.
