Program overview
The Active day out excursion is a Stage 2 PDHPE program for year 3 and 4 students to enjoy games, challenges and adventure in the parklands along the Georges River!
Students will be challenged in personal and small and large teams. Games will be played to develop skills and strategies in target and territory games. The day commences with mindful activities to develop a deep sense of connection to Country and wellbeing. Students will work with friends to build a base in the woodland and learn about Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander connections to Country, Community and Culture. They will discover native foods for health and hygiene and use tools made from natural fibres. With growing confidence students will then participate in large group target and territory games to improve ball skills and movement. Indigenous games using items from nature and world games will be played.
