Program overview
Water savers | Care for water environments incursion is a full one day Stage 1 HSIE incursion. Students will investigate how fresh water is used at home and school, why water is a precious resource and how everyone can help use water more sustainably.
Students become water investigators as they conduct water-use experiments including the popular showerhead experiment, explore their school as they conduct a water audit using data recording templates, identify opportunities to reduce water waste and develop their own water-saving campaign to inspire positive action within the school community.
Connect with our Zero litter in Georges River learning resources and engage in active citizenship.
This incursion supports the Department of Education Stage 1 HSIE Sample unit 8 – Care of water environments.
Conduct our centre for information on our free Water savers incursion | Care for water environments subsidised by Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water.
Maximum one class per day.

Cost 2026 |
NSW Department of Education schools $22 per student Non-government schools $28 per student The total cost of the program will be based on the number of students confirmed at least 3 working days before your program. If the number of students is not confirmed by this time, the total cost will be calculated using the number of students listed on the original booking form or the actual number of students who attend, whichever is greater. An Interschool Journal request or sales order will then be prepared and sent to your school for payment. |

Preparation |
Please meet the Georges River EEC staff member/s up to 1 hour before first session. This program contains a large amount of equipment. If possible please provide a car space on level ground in close proximity to the program introduction learning space. Learning spaces – please provide suitable learning spaces for the duration of the program:
